So that you can understand why it takes so long to get you in print here are the steps we must go through to get an author in print.

1. Sign author
2. Obtain bio and title info along with manuscript
3. Announce author signing with press release
4. Add title & author to website
5. Submit request for Library of Congress #
6. Submit title to Books In Print
7. Submit title to distributor
8. Format manuscript
9. Pay advance royalty
10. Send manuscript to Proof Reader
11. Prepare Galleys
12. Send Galleys to author
13. Design cover concept
14. Get author’s input on cover design
15. Send cover design to graphic designer
16. Correct Galleys
17. Make 15 review copies (send 2 to author)
18. Send out reviews
19. Send book to printer
20. Send pre-publication review copy to Barnes &    Noble Small Press Department
21. Update Amazon.com
22. Send books to distributor
23. Send author copies out
24. Give distributor promotional samples & initial     stock
25. Release book / Send out Press Release
