Lynnette Baughman
Lynnette Baughman was born in Bremerton, Washington but
grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She is a graduate of New Mexico State University with a
B.A. in English. She is married and the mother of three grown daughters. Currently she is
active in the Arts Council, Kiwanis and is a member of the American Association of
University Women, Sisters in Crime and the Mystery Writers of America.
She lived in Las Vegas for eight years writing a 20 part series
for the Las Vegas Sun and writing publicity for the Imperial Palace Hotel and Casino. When
she came back to New Mexico she worked as a newspaper editor for four years earning
several awards from the Associated Press. Since late 1992 she has been freelancing and
working on her fiction.
Lynette has written magazine articles in Reader's Digest, Runners
World, Writer's Digest, New Mexico Magazine and numerous others. She writes a monthly
column for the Sante Fe New Mexican and is a regular contributor to Mystery News.
Her first book, A Spy Within, is an
exciting murder mystery set in her own home town in 1999. However, this mystery involves
an intricate conspiracy dating back to World War II and the development of the atomic
bomb.
Her second book, Thin Disguise,
features Olivia Wright who teams up with an ex-husband to solve the murder of a fading
movie star Margot Farr, famous for her carousel of husbands and her roller coaster
weight.
